Casio’s flagship G-SHOCK store is using state of the art lamp-free projection technology to enhance in-store events.
One of its most popular nights, G-SHOCK Sessions Cypher (the centre of a dance floor where dancers congregate) is a celebration of hip hop beats and break dancing, where professional dancers battle it out for the number one spot. Entry is free and open to everyone.
G-SHOCK returned to London’s Carnaby Street, the location of its first ever store back in 1998, last April. Renowned for making ‘the world’s toughest watch’, its basement space hosts a variety of creative events throughout the year. Lamp-free projection technology is ideal for retail spaces of this kind, as it delivers exceptionally high brightness, reduced power consumption and crystal clear imagery.
Casio’s state of the art lamp-free Ultra Short Throw projector is used to display graphics and promotional messaging on the screen at the centre of the cypher, providing an edgy visual backdrop to dancers’ incredible moves.
Its high brightness of 3,500 lumens and total elimination of any on screen shadowing makes it the perfect projector for retailers like G-SHOCK, especially during G-SHOCK Sessions Cypher events when dancers are positioned directly in front of the screen. Lamp-free technology also ensures users never have to change a bulb again, so there’s minimal maintenance over the projector’s impressive 5 year lifetime.
John G, Events Communications Executive at Casio UK, says:
“We’ve had Casio’s UST installed for 1 year now and we’ve never had any issues. It’s ideal for promoting our brand and various event hashtags; the high brightness is also important as the event space downstairs is quite dark. You don’t even realise there’s a projector involved, as it’s hidden away and placed so closely to the screen. It’s totally transformed the space.”
