2020 marks 10 years since the dawn of our pioneering laser & LED technology and the market debut of our first lampfree projector. So this year we’re celebrating the past decade and the milestones we’ve made along the way.
Guided by Casio’s motto of creativity and contribution, we strive to design products ahead of the curve, built with longevity in mind and future-proofed from industry change. Discovering a revolutionary alternative, we’ve created a solution which competes at the same level of brightness without using lamps and is environmentally friendly. We introduced our first ever laser & LED hybrid projector in 2010.
At the time, the market was saturated with lamp-based projectors which not only use more energy and contain mercury, but dim over time and need replacing often several times a year. So with a mission to make the projector market cleaner, greener and more sustainable, we succeeded in creating a projector light source which wouldn’t dim or rely on the toxic metal mercury.
Mercury lamps pose a potential health risk across schools and institutions if bulbs blow or aren’t disposed of properly. That’s why in 2013, an intergovernmental agreement was signed by 128 countries in an effort to minimise the usage of mercury in industry to protect the environment and public health.
In a bid to stay committed to lamp and mercury free projection, we’ve expanded our family of lampfree projectors to a range of 12 solutions for a variety of applications and throw distances from 13cm to 9 metres, all powered by our unique technology. We remain the only manufacturer which specialises in lampfree projection, which means we continue to perfect and develop the technology as we have done since 2010.
After 10 years of pioneering lampfree technology, we’re celebrating what we’ve achieved and are looking ahead to how we can continue our mission to bring lampfree technology everywhere.
